View battery life development

This guide explains how to view the development of a device’s battery life in Stella Care’s Administration System. The feature shows how many hours the device has been able to run on a full charge over time. This makes it possible to detect changes in battery health, charging patterns, or technical issues.

How to open battery life development

  1. Go to Citizens in the navigation menu on the left.

  2. Click on the citizen whose history you want to view.

  3. Find the device you want to view history for, and click the (📄) icon in the History column.

  4. A new window will open with the Activity history tab.

  5. Click on the Battery discharge rate tab.

You will now see a graph showing how many hours the device has run from 100% to 0% for each day with available data.

How the graph works

The graph shows:

  • Discharge time in hours per full charge for each day in the selected period.

  • Higher bars indicate longer battery life (e.g., low activity, stable signal, or fewer movements).

  • Lower bars indicate shorter battery life (e.g., high activity, poor coverage, or frequent GPS updates).

You can select the period at the top by entering dates in the “From” and “To” fields.

What is considered good battery life?

It varies between citizens, but generally:

  • Stable battery life over time indicates a healthy battery and stable usage conditions.

  • Large fluctuations may indicate differences in daily use, poor network coverage, or irregular charging.

  • A clear declining trend may indicate battery wear or a need to review the device settings.

Troubleshooting issues

Suddenly very low battery life may be caused by:

  • Poor signal

  • High movement

  • Poor device configuration

  • Many alarms from the device

  • Frequent reports from the device

  • A charger not working properly

Assess charging routines

If battery life varies significantly, it may indicate that the device is not being charged regularly.

Tips

  • Review a period of 30–60 days for the clearest overview.

  • Compare battery life development with the battery graph to see what happened on days with unusual consumption.

  • Contact Stella Care Support if battery life becomes significantly shorter without a clear reason.
